Bomb Squad To Perform Pittsburgh Light Up Night Sweeps
Here's a look at the security measures and other pertinent information for Pittsburgh's annual Light Up Night celebration Saturday.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Police Bomb Squad will perform protective sweeps as part of the security measures being undertaken for the city's annual Highmark Light Up Night festivities on Saturday.
Additionally, more than 100 officers, supported by cycle and mounted units, will be deployed in the central business and entertainment districts. Pittsburgh EMS will have two medic units stationed Downtown, three motorcycle medics, and an additional EMS River Rescue boat on the waterways.
Also, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire's fire prevention officer will inspect and monitor all of the event's fireworks installations.

"Pittsburgh Public Safety's multiple departments will all be working hard to make the night safe and enjoyable for everyone," Public Safety Director Lee Schmidt said in a release.
There will be multiple street closures, with the earliest beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday and reopening at 4 a.m. on Sunday. The early closures are as follows:

- Fort Duquesne Blvd. westbound from Stanwix St. to Seventh St.
- Penn Ave. extension from Stanwix St. to the Gateway T-Station Triangle.
- Roberto Clemente (Sixth St.) Bridge.
- Penn Ave. from Fifth Ave. to Stanwix Street.
Additional closures begin Saturday at 1 a.m. and will continue through the day as events approach their start times.
