Consumer Alert Issued: Diners Warned About Pittsburgh Restaurant
The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a popular Pittsburgh eatery.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Lucca Ristorante & Wine Bar on South Craig Street in Oakland for numerous health code violations.
An inspector on Tuesday found a live mouse and five dead mice in the kitchen and food prep areas. Fresh and old rodent droppings were observed throughout the kitchen area in the cook line and salad prep area, as well as the wine room, dining room, employee restroom, server station and behind the bar.
Rodent dropping also were present throughout the basement and the dry food storage area. Nesting material was found in the wine room.

Multiple small flies were present near the soda racks and behind the bar.
A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
