Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh Eatery
The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a Pittsburgh fast food restaurant. Patch provides the details.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Quik-It Chicken, on Pennsylvania Avenue in the city's California-Kirkbride section, for numerous health code violations.
During an inspection on Tuesday, live German cockroaches were observed in multiple area of the kitchen. Dead roaches were found on sticky traps, on top of the paper towel dispenser next to the prep sink and inside of cooking equipment.
Apparent rodent droppings were found under shelving in a utility closet. Apparent insect droppings were located on multiple locations throughout the kitchen.

Foods were being stored at unsafe temperatures.
There was an accumulation of food debris on utensils throughout the eatery.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
