PITTSBURGH, PA — Gov. Josh Shaprio and other authorities will provide an update Tuesday after two people were killed and 10 were injured Monday in an explsoion at the U.S. Steel Works in Clairton.
Allegheny County Emergency Services Chief Matthew Brown confirmed in a press conference late Monday that a second worker was found dead at the scene and was in the hnads of the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office. The victim has not been identified.
The other worker killed was identifed by a family member as Timothy Quinn, 39, of Westmoreland County. He was the father of a 17-year-old son,Triblive reported.

The explosion at the plant, often cited by the Allegheny County Health Department, triggered a temporary advisory for everyone living within a mile of the plant to shelter in place. That advisory was lifted late on Monday.
At 10:51 a.m., Allegheny County 911 was notified of an explosion inside a battery operating area at the coke works. In total, 14 local fire departments and 20 EMS services responded to the scene to assist. Two medics were taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating alongside the fire marshal and ATF.
County officials say several secondary explosions were reported, but caused no additional injuries.
U.S. Steel CEO David B .Burritt issued the following statement:
"I want to express my deep gratitude to our emergency response team, who acted immediately in the wake of this tragic incident, and to all who provided support on site. "I know that here in Clairton, and across our U. S. Steel family, people are hurting.
"Let’s continue to do what we do best — stand together and support one other through these hard times. Counselors are available on site and remotely for anyone who needs them."
