Double Amputee Ex-Marine Raped Teen Girl: Police
A former Marine who lost his legs in combat is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
PITTSBURGH, PA — A decorated Marine who is a double amputee and motivational speaker is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions.
Brandon Rumbaugh. who lost both of his legs while serving in Afghanistan, is accused of having sex with the girl in his Pleasant Hills home in April.
The girl told authorities she had known Rumbaugh since she was 10 and he was a family friend.

Rumbaug, 36, is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, furnishing liquor to a minor and three counts indecent assault.
Rumbaugh was denied bail during his Wednesday arraignment after a district judge said he was a threat to the victim, witnesses and the community. He currently is being housed in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing.

The complaint states that video footage shows Rumbaugh and the girl together at a local Sheetz last month and Rumbaugh purchasing alcohol. The pair later had sex, the alleged victim told authorities.
Rumbaugh, a 2007 graduate of Uniontown Area High School, lost both of his legs in an improvised explosive device blast in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on Nov. 29, 2010, the Observer-Reporterreported. The Purple Heart recipient was running to rescue another Marine who’d stepped on an IED.
Rumbaugh spent two years at Walter Reed Medical Center, where he underwent multiple surgeries and learned to walk with prosthetics.
