INDIANA COUNTY, PA — An Altoona man who was reported missing in Indiana County after taking off in an ultralight aircraft on Wednesday night was found dead following a crash. Pennsylvania State Police said that the body of David Edward Wittmer, 75, was found in the plane in a corn field along Coal Run Road in Young Township less than a mile from where it had taken off. It's unclear what caused the crash. No foul play is suspected and troopers are investigating the incident as an accidental death. The Indiana County Coroner's Office is assisting with the investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the incident.
