PA Pilot Killed In Plane Crash

Pennsylvania State Police said the wreckage of the plane was found in a corn field.

INDIANA COUNTY, PA — An Altoona man who was reported missing in Indiana County after taking off in an ultralight aircraft on Wednesday night was found dead following a crash.

Pennsylvania State Police said that the body of David Edward Wittmer, 75, was found in the plane in a corn field along Coal Run Road in Young Township less than a mile from where it had taken off.

It's unclear what caused the crash. No foul play is suspected and troopers are investigating the incident as an accidental death.
