Ex-Steelers Star Sought On Attempted Homicide Charge: Report
A former Steeler and Super Bowl champion is wanted on an attempted homicide charge.
PITTSBURGH, PA — A former Steelers superstar who was detained last month after a boxing event in Miami now is being sought by police seeking to arrest him on an attempted homicide charge.
According to a warrant obtained by The Washington Post, authorities in Miami-Dade Florida County are seeking to arrest Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder with a firearm. Reportedly, the warrant also wants Brown to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest.
The fight at the boxing event that allegedly took place between Brown and several others individuals shortly before midnight on May 16. Videos of the incident circulated on social media.

Brown was not arrested at the time and noted that on social media.
"Regarding the boxing event that happened last night, I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. " Brown wrote in an X post.

"Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED. I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me. I will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process. Thank you for the support and love."
According to the Post, the warrant states that police obtained video footage that shows Brown punching a man and later appearing to take a security officer's gun and run toward the man. Cellphone videos reportedly show Brown approaching the man and firing several shots.
Brown, 36, was a Steelers' sixth-round pick in 2010. He was named an All-Pro five times and made seven Pro Bowls over nine seasons before being traded to the Oakland Raiders. The controversial Brown never played for the Raiders, however, but played one game for the New England Patriots in 2019 and 15 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020-21.
His time with the Buccaneers included a Super Bowl LV victory.
