FAA Imposes Drone Restriction For Pittsburgh Area

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued strict prohibitions regarding drones in the Pittsburgh area. Get the details here

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Federal Aviation Administration has announced a temporary flight restriction over the Oakmont Country Club.

That's the site of this week's U.S. Open.

The restriction is for one nautical mile from the center of Oakmont from the ground level to 1,000 feet high.

Allegheny County officials said the operation of drones or any unmanned aircraft systems in the restricted space is prohibited. The FAA, along with local law enforcement agencies, will enforce the restrictions.

All spectators, residents, and visitors are urged to refrain from operating drones in the identified area.
