Fire Ravages Pittsburgh Eatery
A devastating fire roared through the building leased by a Pittsburgh eatery.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The future of popular Pittsburgh eatery Thyme Machine is in doubt after a fire roared through the building it leases on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield.
Thyme Machine is closed until further notice.
"Folks. If you haven’t heard, the Thyme Machine kitchen had an electrical fire that started in the wall sometime in the wee hours of last Saturday morning," owner Ryan Chavara wrote in an Instagram post.

"No one was hurt thank goodness. By the time the fire department could locate the source, the flames spread throughout the wall and under the floor. While the brave men and women of the Pittsburgh Fire Department were able to contain the blaze, a lot of damage was done to the building. It’s… pretty bad.
"Right now we are waiting for the insurance companies to give us a picture of what our next steps look like. It would be hard for me to say I’m optimistic about getting our home back. Bloomfield has embraced us since day one. It would kill me to have to go elsewhere but kitchen space is very limited in this city. We will do our best, but it’s probably going to take some time to reopen, regardless of where that might be."
