First Winter Snow Arriving Soon In Pittsburgh

It's that time of year again. Prepare for snow to fall in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — To some, it will bring delight. To others, despair.

But either way, snow is going to fall in Pittsburgh soon.

The National Weather Service is predicting a wild weekend, with showers, storms and wind gusts as high as 31 mph. That fun begins on Friday.

Saturday will bring good weather, with partly sunny skies and a high near 60.

But rain returns Saturday night and on Sunday. As a cold front arrives, rain will change to snow showers on Sunday night. The low will be around 29.

Snow showers also are likely Monday and Monday night. The high on Monday will only be in the mid-30s, with the low Monday dropping down to the mid-20s.

The weather service has not yet said whether any accumulation is possible.
