Flood Advisory Issued For Pittsburgh, Surrounding Communities

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the Pittsburgh area until 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

At 4:44 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. As much as 1.5 inches of rain have fallen and an additional half-inch is expected over the area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Monroeville, Franklin Park, Shaler Township, Plum, West Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin, Murrysville, Wilkinsburg, Munhall, North Versailles, Swissvale, O'hara Township, Bellevue, Kennedy Township and West View.
