Former Pittsburgh TV News Anchor Leaves City
A veteran TV news anchor who recently left a Pittsburgh TV station is heading to a new destination. Get the details here.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Former WPXI-TV morning news anchor Katherine Amenta has bid the city a fond farewell. Four months after leaving the station after her contract was not renewed, Amenta stated in a social media post that she is leaving Pittsburgh.
But on her way out the door, she expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received since departing the station.
"Your kind words and messages have met the world to me," she stated.

"They're yet another reminder that Pittsburgh wasn't just another stop along the way. It was new friends, new traditions, new adventures. It was...well..home."
After 11 years in the city, Amenta said she is returning to her native area of Philadelphia and New Jersey to begin a new career out of TV. She did not specify what her new position will be.

"But just so you know, for the rest of my life, I will always believe that french fries do belong on sandwiches, everything does deserve fireworks, all cookies should smile back at you - and most importantly, all bridges lead you home."
