Former Steelers Player's Cause Of Death Disclosed

PITTSBURGH, PA — A cause of death has been disclosed for former Pittsburgh Steelers player Jacoby Jones, who died last month at the age of 40.
Jones died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to a New Orleans medical examiner.The heart disease was caused by long-term high blood pressure.
Jones was best known as a wide receiver during his NFL career. He played five seasons with the Houston Texans, three with the Baltimore Ravens and briefly for the San Diego chargers.

He concluded his professional career with the Steelers in 2015, putting up modest kick return numbers in four games: Six punt returns for 19 yards and nine kick returns for 220 yards.
Jones was found dead in his home on July 14. After his death, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin posted on X: "My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Jacoby Jones during this difficult time. I enjoyed coaching him during his time with the Steelers."
