Former Steelers Superstar Jailed On Attempted Homicide Charge
An ex-Steeler is wearing a prison uniform today after being held on an attempted homicide charge. Patch provides the details.
PITTSBURGH, PA —A former Steelers superstar was arrested in the Middle East and now is facing an attempted homicide charge in the United States.
Antonio Brown was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. He was flown to Essex County, New Jersey, where he is being held pending extradition to Miami.
Shots allegedly were fired by Brown during an altercation with others during a boxing match he attended in May. Videos of the incident circulated on social media.

"I can confirm that Antonio Brown is currently in custody in Newark, New Jersey, and will be extradited shortly to the city of Miami to face charges related to a shooting incident that occurred in Little Haiti earlier this year," Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales said in a statement.
"Let this serve as a clear message: No matter who you are or where you run, we will pursue the facts, identify you, locate you and bring you to justice. To anyone even considering a crime in Miami - know this: we will find you."

Brown, 37, was a Steelers' sixth-round pick in 2010. He was named an All-Pro five times and made seven Pro Bowls over nine seasons before being traded to the Oakland Raiders. The controversial Brown never played for the Raiders, however, but played one game for the New England Patriots in 2019 and 15 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020-21.
