Pittsburgh Supermarket Chain Drops Prices On Hundreds Of Items: See Them Here

PITTSBURGH, PA — Giant Eagle on Tuesday announced a seasonal price initiative beginning Thursday and running through the end of the year that will reduce and hold prices on more than 300 of its most frequently purchased products.

Included are family meal essentials like proteins, produce and pantry staples.

“We are excited to introduce our new seasonal pricing initiative, 'On Sale This Season,'” said Justin Weinstein, Giant Eagle Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer. “By lowering the prices of key items that our customers frequently purchase, we intend to deliver reliable everyday value and savings opportunities for Giant Eagle customers as they shop for their families throughout the season.”

The “On Sale This Season” seasonal price initiative is an important element of Giant Eagle’s recently announced Because It Matters strategy which Giant Eagle says reaffirms its commitment to better everyday value, better quality and service, and a better overall shopping experience, all with a focus on prioritizing what truly matters to customers.

What can customers expect? From October 2 through December 31, they will see savings on key items such as:

• Large white eggs - $2.99 a dozen

• Stem tomatoes - $1.99 per pound

• Iceberg lettuce - $2.19 each

• Nathan's Franks - $5.49 each (selected 11 oz - 14 oz varieties)

• Giant Eagle beans - 0.89 each (selected 15.5 oz varieties)

• Schwebel's 'Taliano Bread - $2.99 each or Giant White Bread

• Cheerios - $3.99 each (selected 10.6 oz. varieties)

• Giant Eagle Shredded Cheese - $2.29 each (selected 8 oz. varieties)

• Land O Lakes butter - $4.99 each (selected 1 lb. varieties)

• Giant Eagle brown sugar - $1.99 each (selected 16 oz. varieties)
