Giant Ferris Wheel Returning To Pittsburgh
A large Ferris wheel will be coming back to Pittsburgh for a limited stay. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Motorists will have to avoid the Roberto Clemente Bridge in Downtown Pittsburgh for much of next month as a Ferris wheel on the span will present a serious traffic obstacle.
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership announced on Wednesday that Oktoberfest Pittsburgh will return October 2-12 on the bridge and along Fort Duquesne Boulevard. The second year of the festivities will include a return of the enormously popular Ferris wheel, which was invented in Pittsburgh.
“We’re thankful to Allegheny County for approving the return of the Ferris wheel on the Roberto Clemente Bridge as this truly captures what makes Oktoberfest Pittsburgh so special,” said partnership CEO Jeremy Waldrup.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates our city in a way only Pittsburgh can, and this year, the festivities will all take place along the river, bringing all the traditions and activities together in one place. We certainly hope that the community will come join us to raise one by the river."
Festival tents will feature a lively biergarten pouring classic brews featuring a mix of local Pittsburgh brews, imported German drafts and more, alongside non-alcoholic options. Music will keep the energy high throughout the day and into the night on the Edgar Snyder Stage, with oompah bands and polka performers setting the soundtrack for the celebration.
