GoFundMe Set Up For Pittsburgh Sex Offender After Hit-And-Run
The man critically injured in a hit-and-run incident this week is a convicted sex offender.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A fundraising effort for the victim in a March 22 hit-and-run, who is a registered sex offender, has raised $17,000 as of Thursday morning.
The GoFundMe page was established to benefit Ethan Cardone. According to a Pittsburgh Public Safety report, Cardone and his dog were struck by a vehicle just after midnight on Bailey Avenue on Mt. Washington. Medics took Cardone to an area hospital in critical condition; the dog died at the scene.
Police later recovered the suspected vehicle involved in the incident, a black 2009 Lexus RX350. The Collision Investigation Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made as of Thursday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law website, Cardone, 34, has been a registered sex offender since 2014. That news was first reported by KDKA-AM's Colin Dunlap.
According to the Megan's Law website, Cardone in 2014 was convicted of sexual abuse of children, child pornography possession and dissemination of photos, videotapes, computer depictions and films of child pornography.
