Gun Seized At Pittsburgh International Airport
A traveler attempted to get a gun through a Pittsburgh International Airport security checkpoint.

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County Police have charged a Florida woman after a firearm was discovered at the main security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.
At 8:17 am on September 24, Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun within a passenger’s carry-on bag at the checkpoint and alerted police.
The traveler, Stephanie Nicholas did not possess a valid concealed carry permit. She faces a misdemeanor charge for carrying a firearm without a license. The FBI also was notified.

Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
