Health Department Shuts Down Pittsburgh Nightclub
Find out here why the Allegheny County Health Department has closed a Pittsburgh nightclub.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny Health Department has shut down La Kave, a restaurant and nightclub on Lincoln Avenue in the city's Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar section.
A Feb. 27 inspection revealed the club is operating without a valid health permit. An inspector noted that questions remain over the lack of a valid occupancy permit for its current use as an after-hours nightclub. The permit needs to be verified, as records reflect the building is zoned for retail/apartments.
Although the club is remodeling, the inspector could not verify a plumbing permit for a first-floor restroom addition or a new sewer line in the basement.

A "closed" placard is posted at an establishment when an imminent health hazard is identified at a restaurant or kitchen if it has been operating without proper permits. It is unlawful to operate a food facility with a "closed" placard.
