Heat To Again Send Thousands Of Pittsburgh Students Home Early
With temperatures again expected to be in the 90s on Friday, dozens of Pittsburgh schools will dismiss students early.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Students in nearly 40 Pittsburgh Public Schools buildings lacking or with broken air conditioning will get an early start to the holiday weekend. They will be on half-day schedules Friday.
The National Weather Service says temperatures again are expected to climb into the lower 90s.
The early dismissals repeat the protocol the district used on Wednesday and is in effect for the following schools:

Students should not expect early dismissals when they return to school following the Labor Day holiday. Temperatures next week in Pittsburgh are expected to top out in the upper 70s.
