Knife-Wielding Man Fatally Shot By Pittsburgh Police

PITTSBURGH, PA — A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by Pittsburgh police officers Wednesday night.
Allegheny County Police said 911 was notified at 10:15 p.m. of a domestic disturbance in the 4100 block of Murray Avenue in Greenfield. City police who responded to the incident were confronted by a man with a knife inside a stairwell.
Two officers fired their weapons, wounding the man. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man as Matthew Foster, 24, of Moon.
No officers were injured in the incident.
