PITTSBURGH, PA — Layne's Chicken Fingers soon will open its third restaurant in Pittsburgh at 5200 Baum Blvd. near Shadyside Hospital. The building formerly housed a Boston Market.

Layne's is best known for its chicken finger meals that come with marinated chicken, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, drink and Layne's signature sauce. The restaurant also serves chicken and chicken club sandwiches, grilled cheese and chicken wraps.

The College Station, Texas-based chain has nearly 20 restaurants across the country and hopes to increase that number to 50 by the end of 2025. More Layne's locations could follow the Shadyside one in a highly competitive Pittsburgh fast food chicken market that includes chains such as Chick-Fil-A, Raising Cane's and, in the near future, Dave's Hot Chicken.
