BUTLER, PA — A man has been arrested after being accused of assaulting a 3-year-old boy last week at the Butler Farm Show.
Gary Fend Jr., 45, of Butler, was taken into custody after Pennsylvania State Troopers were called to the farm show at around 6 p.m. A vendor told police he saw Fend strike the child and push him into a stroller.
The child had red marks on his face and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, according to police.

Fend has been charged with simple assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of children.
According to court documents, Fend is being held in the Butler County Prison after being unable to post bond. He faces a Sept. 4 preliminary hearing.
