Man Charged After Gun Seized At Pittsburgh International Airport
A Fayette County man is in trouble for attempting to get a gun through a Pittsburgh International Airport security checkpoint.

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — A Fayette County man is facing a felony charge after his gun was seized at Pittsburgh International Airport's main security checkpoint on Wednesday.
It was the eighth gun confiscated at the airport so far this year. Last year, 42 guns were confiscated at the airport, the largest number of any airport in Pennsylvania.
At 6:32 p.m., Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun within a passenger’s suitcase at checkpoint and alerted Allegheny County police. They identified the traveler as James McDonald, 45, of Point Marion, and determined he did hot possess a valid concealed carry permit.

McDonald is facing one felony charge for carrying a firearm without a license. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.
Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the TSA up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
