Man Dead After Pittsburgh-Area House Fire
Despite a heroic effort to rescue him, a Pittsburgh-area man died following a weekend fire.
HOMESTEAD, PA — An elderly man died after a Saturday morning house fire in the 100 block of W. 12th Avenue.
The blaze broke out around 11:30 a.m. First responders found the man was trapped inside the second floor of the home. Firefighters were able to rescue him, but he died after being taken to an area hospital.
The victim was identified as Ronald Jenkins, 79.
