Man Dies While In Custody At Allegheny County Jail
Police are probing the death of a man at the Allegheny County Jail on Friday.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County police are investigating the death of an incarcerated man in the county jail Friday morning.
Jail Warden Trevor Wingard said the 41-year old man was brought into the facility at approximately 6:44 p.m. Thursday on charges of resisting arrest and prohibited acts. He initially was sent to the hospital at around 9:20 p.m. and returned to the jail shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday.
According to Wingard, the man experienced a medical emergency while awaiting arraignment Friday morning. Staff responded and performed lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived at around 5:32 a.m. He was declared dead at 6:18 a.m.

Wingard said that in addition to the county police investigation, and internal jail review into the man's death will be conducted.
The man's name and cause of death will be released by the county medical examiner's office.
