Man Sought For Questioning In Pittsburgh-Area Double Homicide

Police are searching for John Malcolm Smith in connection with a double homicide in the Pittsburgh area on Tuesday.

HOMESTEAD, PA — Allegheny County Police are looking to question John Malcom Smith regarding the double homicide that occurred inside a home here Tuesday.

Smith currently has arrest warrants for burglary and simple assault from Homestead police, as well as probation violation warrants.

Police cautioned that if anyone sees Smith, they should not approach him and instead call 911.

County 911 was notified Tuesday afternoon of shots fired inside a home in the 100 block of West 15th Ave. Homestead police responded and hailed the residence. When they received no response, they asked for assistance from the county SWAT team believing a suspect was inside.

The SWAT team discovered a man and woman dead inside the home. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as Antoinette Porterfield, 45, of Homestead, and John West, 54, of West Mifflin.
