Massive Blaze Destroys Pittsburgh-Area Home; Multiple People Injured

A huge fire broke out in a Pittsburgh-area residence Wednesday night. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Multiple people were hurt in a fire that destroyed a home near Pittsburgh on Wednesday night.

Firefighters were called to the 1900 block of Kenneth Avenue in Arnold, Westmoreland County, shortly before 8 p.m. At least four people were taken to the hospital from the scene.

Firefighters told WPXI-TV they found a person lying injured on the ground near the house who might have jumped out of one of the top two floors of the house to escape. That person was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Three others were said taken to the hospital. Their condition was unknown as of Thursday morning.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
