Massive Pittsburgh-Area Power Outage: Latest Info

PITTSBURGH, PA - Duquesne Light continues to make progress in restoring service to customers who lost power in Tuesday’s storm, but still does not antipate completing the task until Tuesday.
The company also warned that additional severe weather might delay restoration times and bring more outages to the service area.
The National Weather Service has said severe storms are possible in the Pittsburgh area Thursday and Friday.
In an update Thursday, Duquesne Light said it has restored service to more than 60 percent of impacted customers. As of 9:30 a.m. Friday, more than 64,000 customers remained without power, according to the company’s outages page.

Duquesne Light continues to urge people to stay away from downed wires, broken poles and other safety hazards. No one ahould approach a downed wire or any objects that are around or touching a wire.
People should give ample space to line workers and troubleshooters and report downed wires or other hazardous situations to Duquesne Lught!s emergency number at 888-393-7000.
