Memorial Day 2025: What's Open, Closed In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — All Allegheny County offices – including the independently elected offices, courts, and county council, will be closed Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

The North Park and South Park golf courses will be open dawn to dusk on Memorial Day. Golf Course Concessions will be open normal hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All county parks administration offices and the Hartwood Acres Mansion will be closed.

All offices and parks facilities will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday.

Federal, State, City of Pittsburgh offices will not be open.

There will be no refuse, bulk waste or recycling collection on Monday and collection will be pushed back one day for the rest of the week. If the scheduled day of collection is Monday, people will be serviced Tuesday; Those usually serviced Tuesday will be serviced Wednesday; and so on through the week.

Senior centers and recreation centers will be closed.

Also closed will be banks, post offices, schools, the stock market, Costco and the Carnegie Libraries in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Regional Transit service will operate on a holiday schedule.

Most grocery stores will be open, but many will close early.
