Multiple Firefighters Injured In Pittsburgh Blaze

A group of Pittsburgh firefighters were hospitalized after a blaze Thursday morning.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Four Pittsburgh firefighters have been hospitalized after being injured while battling a blaze on Monastery Avenue the city's South Side slopes on Thursday.

While working the fire, the firefighters came into contact with an electrical current and were transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital for medical evaluation. All are in stable condition.

While the initial investigation indicates the fire started towards the rear of the structure, Fire Investigation Unit detectives arrived to the scene and are working to determine the exact cause.

The fire was contained within the single structure. No civilian injuries were reported.

The two-alarm fire broke out at around 8:15 a.m. and brought under control at 9:45 a.m., Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said.
