Multiple Pittsburgh Pizza Places Participating In National Festival
National recognition awaits several Pittsburgh pizzerias this weekend. Patch provides the details.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Four Pittsburgh-area pizza places will be on display nationally this weekend as they participate in the One-Bite Pizza Festival in New York City.
The festival is the brainchild of Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and creator of the popular YouTube channel One Bite Pizza Reviews, where he gives his take on pies across the nation. The festival will feature New York, Neopolitan, Sicilian and other types of pizza.
Portnoy spent time in the Pittsburgh area last year sampling pizzerias.

Forged in flavor, Pizza Lupo is the creation of brothers Travis and Brad Wolff—two City of Pittsburgh firefighters turning up the heat outside the station with their wildly popular pizza. What began as a backyard experiment quickly ignited into a Pittsburgh favorite, known for bold, crispy crusts, fresh ingredients, and the kind of no-frills, all-flavor experience that keeps people coming back. Pizza Lupo isn’t just a pizzeria—it’s a full-on tribute to brotherhood, community, and damn good pizza.
A Slice of New York, Murrysville
Founded by Bronx native Sean Jefairjian, the shop focuses on makingauthentic New York pizza with attention to detail and quality. Known for its straightforward approach and strong local following, it’s become ago-to spot for those who appreciate a classic slice done right.
Rockaway Pizza, Regent Square
Rockaway gained a strong following, drawing regional and national acclaim. Now, with a move to Regent Square, (owner Josh) Sickels aims to redefine the landscape of Pittsburgh’s pizza scene.
The Galley, North Side
Featuring pizza as well as house-smoked shaved prime rib cheesesteaks, Bell & Evans dry-rubbed smoked wings, house cut fries, and some juicy Pat LaFrieda blend burgers.
