Multiple Pittsburgh Weather Threats Emerge
It's not just the heat. The National Weather Service is cautioning of other potential severe conditions.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Mother Nature is not giving Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania a break this week. As an oppressive heat wave continues, new weather threats are here.
First, the temperatures: The National Weather Service says an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105.
The warning is in effect for Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Washington, Allegheny, Butler, and Westmoreland counties.

In addition to the heat, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The main hazard is expected to be damaging wind gusts. In addition, locally heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding.
The storms are expected to occur between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Additionally, thunderstorms could produce strong wind gusts and flash flooding Thursday and Friday.
An active pattern is then expected through early next week with periodic showers and thunderstorms, and the potential for locally heavy rainfall at times.
