  1. This past Saturday, approximately two dozen museum workers picketed over contract talks with the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. Members of the United Museum Workers union say the biggest issue is their demand for a raise in base pay from $12/hour to $16/hour. According to a statement from the Carnegie Museums, the entity is "currently having productive discussions" and "[looks] forward to continuing those discussions as we negotiate a mutually beneficial collective bargaining agreement." 2. A Pittsburgh suburb has secured a grant for new pickleball courts and other improvements. The city of Bethel Park will use the $280,000 award for 10 new pickleball courts, a new parking lot, and other renovations to Millennium Park. Funding for the grant comes from the Allegheny Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund, with approval from the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority. (The Almanac)
  3. The Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) District has proposed a $675.9 million budget for 2023. While the spending plan is a 1.5 percent increase from this year's budget, it also reduces the deficit from $27 million to $2 million. The PPS board is expected to vote on the prospective budget on Dec. 21. (90.5 WESA)
