New Pittsburgh Brewpub Debuts

A new bar and restaurant from the owners of an already successful Pittsburgh brewpub opens Wednesday.

BRADDOCK, PA — Brew Gentlemen, a staple on Braddock Avenue for years, has taken over the former Superior Motors restaurant seven blocks down the street and opens it Wednesday as the Braddock Public House.

In an email to select Pittsburgh beer aficianados Tuesday, the new brewpub revealed that it will feature Brew Gentlemen beer along with other craft beers; wine, cocktails, zero-proof cocktails, house-made sodas, coffee, and tea; and a lunch and dinner menu of classic Pittsburgh dishes with a Hawaiian-Japanese influence.

"Think pierogi and gyoza!" the email stated.

The site originally was Superior Motors, one of the nation's first indoor car dealerships.

Former Pittsburgh chef and restaurateur Kevin Sousa drew acclaim after he reopened the space as a restaurant with the same name in 2017. Like many restaurants, it closed during the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and never reopened.
