BRADDOCK, PA — After soft opening activities over the past few weeks, Braddock Public House will hold an official grand opening celebration on Saturday. The restaurant-brewpub is in the old Superior Motors restaurant space on Braddock Avenue and is directly beneath the residence of U.S. Sen. John Fetterman and his family.

The new brewpub is owned by partners Matt Katase and Alaina Webber, who operate Brew Gentlemen several blocks down the street. The original taproom will remain under BG Brewing ownership and be an outpost for to-go can sales and tours.

The dinner menu features classic Pittsburgh dishes with a Hawaiian-Japanese influence. Lunch service is planned for the near future.

“Braddock has been the home of BG Brewing for over a decade, so this addition is really bringing the company full circle," Alaina Webber said in a statement.

"We want to honor the history of the region while combining things we love and feel connected to– whether its flavors from my home in Pittsburgh or Matt’s home of Kona, Hawaii– to build a bridge between Pittsburgh and the Pacific."

The grand opening party is scheduled from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. and will feature a ribbon cutting, live music by the Timbeleza drum line and DJ Sunkist Smith spinning vinyl, dessert by Pie Bird, outdoor games, and activities from neighboring Sol Patch Garden, Braddock Community Library, and the Braddock Community Oven.

Festivities will also include access to the open-air patio and pay-what-you-can pizzas straight from the oven beginning at 5 p.m.
