New Pittsburgh Sushi Spot To Open

PITTSBURGH, PA — The long awaited debut of Pittsburgh restaurateur Richard DeShantz's Bakery Square sushi spot is nearly over. Golden Gai will officially open on Oct. 15.

The opening date was announced on the restaurant's Instagram page. Reservations are now being accepted.

"Our menu is a tantalizing fusion of authentic Japanese flavors and locally sourced ingredients, curated to delight the senses and satisfy the palate. From sizzling yakitori skewers to savory ramen bowls and delicate sushi rolls," the restaurant's website states. "Each dish is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, crafted with meticulous attention to detail."

Sushi lovers have been able to preview the eatery's offerings since May via Golden Gai To-Go, a takeout window in Bakery Square. The window will close for the season on Sept. 28 but will reopen next year.
