Noted Pittsburgh Restauteur To Debut New Location

A James Beard nominee is about to open his latest venture in Pittsburgh. Patch provides the details.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Richard DeShantz, one of Pittsburgh's most successful restaurant onwers is poised to open a new location.

Sea Monkey bar and lounge, whose website boasts that it soon will be anchoring Pittsburgh's night life, will be located on Smallman Street in the Strip District.

"Richard DeShantz, a proud Pittsburgh native, has dedicated the past two decades to enriching the city’s fine dining scene," his website states.

DeShantz's eateries include Meat & Potatoes, Butcher and the Rye, Tako, Gi Jin, Rib Room and Sally Ann's, all Downtown; Coop Deville in Lawrenceville; Fish Nor Fowl in East Liberty and Tako Torta in Bakery Square.
