PA Man Who Allegedly Threatened To Kill Congressional Member Arrested
A Pennsylvania man was arrested by Capitol Police in Washington Tuesday after allegedly threatening to kill a Congressional member.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Pennsylvania man was arrested Tuesday for threatening to kill a Congressional member.
According to the United State Capitol Police, their rapid response team spotted a man from a be on the lookout bulletin published by the USCP's threat assessment section on Oct. 28. The man was stopped before he could attempt to get through security screening at the Delaware Avenue door of the Russell Senate Office Building.
The suspect was identified as Richard Griffin, 43, of Pennsylvania. He has been charged with threats to do bodily harm.

Capitol police did not specify where in the state he is from. Griffin has a history of emailing a Congressional office, as well as various government officials and law enforcement agencies.
The police also did not identify which Senate member might have been in danger from Griffin. Pennsylvania's senators are Democrat John Fetterman and Republican Dave McCormick.

“We will not tolerate any threats to the members of Congress, their families, or staff,” said
United States Capitol Police Chief Michael Sullivan. “Our officers, agents, and professional staff worked relentlessly to bring offenders to justice. We have a zero-tolerance stance when it comes to threats.”
