PennDOT Suspends All Major Pittsburgh-Area State Road Work

PITTSBURGH, PA — PennDOT has announced that all major roadwork has been suspended in Allegheny County today in anticipation of the Pittsburgh rallies of presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Major construction work on all interstates, Route 28, Route 65, and Route 51 within the county has ceased through 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Additionally, all short-term restrictions within Allegheny, Beaver, and Lawrence counties will be suspended from 6 a.m. through 8 p.m. Tuesday to assist with Election Day traffic flow.

Work on lower volume roadways, bridges and ramp closures already in place, as well as work occurring behind barriers, will remain as scheduled.
