Pittsburgh Activates Snow Angels Program

The city is asking people to help their neighbors in need by participating in this year's snow angels program.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The city has launched its annual snow angels program pairing community volunteers with seniors and people with disabilities who need assistance shoveling and salting sidewalks and walkways during the winter.

Data from past years shows the number of neighbors in need of assistance far exceeds the number of volunteers who sign up in many areas of the city. This year, the city is working to develop new partnerships with community-based organizations, youth sports leagues, faith-based groups, and employers to close this gap in several communities.
