Pittsburgh-Area Cafe Slapped With Consumer Alert
The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a suburban Pittsburgh cafe.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for D's Bubble Tea and Cafe on Brownsville Road in Brentwood for numerous health code violations.
An inspection Thursday revealed fruit flies, too numerous to count, throughout the kitchen and basement. The eatery does not have an active pest control contract.
Soiled knives were found in the kitchen and a blender in the basement also was soiled.

Numerous foods were found to be at temperatures too high to be consumed safely.
The restaurant lacks a date-marking system,; prepared foods stored throughout the facility lack discard dates.

The eatery doesn't have a means to sanitize. The operator stated that sanitizing tablets have been ordered but could not provide any invoices.
A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
