Mars Area School District Bus Crashes; Elementary Students On Board

BUTLER COUNTY, PA — A Mars Area School District bus crashed into a tree Thursday morning on Three Degree Road in Adams Township.

The bus driver and at least two students were taken to the hospital. Their conditions currently are unknown.

Butler County dispatchers said a mass casualty incident initially was declared.

The district issued a statement shortly after the accident that stated in part: "District personnel are at the scene and working with first responders to assess the situation and evaluate those students who were on the bus at the time of the accident."

It is not clear what caused the crash.
