Pittsburgh-Area Man Collects $1M PA Lottery Jackpot
A Pittsburgh-area man can provide a million reasons why people should play the Pennsylvania Lottery. Patch provides the details here.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — Pennsylvania Lottery officials and the operator of an Exxon station in Charleroi presented a commemorative check Tuesday to the winner of a $1 million jackpot-winning Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket.
The presentation to Michael Matyas, 70, of Washington County, occurred at the Giant Penn LLC Exxon station on Maple Drive. The station receives a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket from the July 19 drawing.
Matyas bought the ticket the day of the drawing but didn't check it for two days.

“I immediately called my twin brother who lives nearby and told him he needed to come down but didn’t tell him why," Matyas said. "My brother said, ‘Well, he’s either sick or he hit the lottery.’”
Matyas said he retired 10 years ago and recently left a part-time job. He said he plans to use his prize money to help his children, pay off bills, and spend more time enjoying his favorite hobby: golfing.
“I’m still taking it all in," he said. "This whole experience has been fantastic.”
