ETNA, PA — After less than a year in business, Etna Slice House on Butler suddenly has ceased operations.

A message on the pizzeria's website says its “closed until further notice...We will follow up with details moving forward.”

The pizzeria did not provide a reason for the closure. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported the pizza joint's owners, Rear End LLC, were unable to reach a contract agreement with the manager and head chef. The company also owns Rear End Gastropub & Garage on Butler Street.

It is unclear when - or if - Etna Slice House will reopen.

The pizzeria opened last April in the space formerly occupied by Amato's, an Etna staple for decades.
