Pittsburgh-Area Tornado Spree: Latest From Weather Service
The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes touched down in the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has confirmed that three tornadoes occurred in the Pittsburgh area during Wednesday's rash of severe storms.
All three were EFO tornadoes.
The first occurred in Northvue, Butler, County. It had an estimated peak wind of 85 mph, a width of 160 yards and a length of 0.36 miles. It occurred at around 4:40 p.m.

A closed caption security video captured a tornado touching down northwest of Northvue causing the roof to lift off of the Center Township salt dome and depositing it in the parking lot behind
the facility.
The first sign of damage was north of Unionville road where a handful of trees had large branches down and one was uprooted. The twister lifted in an open field just northeast of the salt dome facility.

The second occurred in Jamisonville in Butler County. It had a length of 0.25 miles and a width of 210 yards. Several hardwood trees had large limbs broken off om Mack Road in West Sunbury.
With the two confirmed tornadoes, this brings the total number of tornadoes in Butler County to 28 since 1888. The last tornado in the county was an EF0 on October 21st, 2021.
The other tornado was in the Gastonville area of Washington County. Details of the extent of that twister were still being evaluated Thursday.
No deaths or injuries were reported in any of the tornadoes.
