North Hills Woman, Dog Die After Being Struck By Vehicle
The woman was out walking her dog when both were hit by an SUV.
McCANDLESS, PA — A woman and her dog were stuck and killed by a vehicle in McCandless Tuesday night.
Allegheny County 911 dispatched first responders were sent at around 5:45 p.m. to the intersection of Highland Road and Harmony Drive, where the woman had been walking the dog. The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she died.
The county medical examiner's office identified the victim as Lara Kay Tebelius, 55.

The driver of the SUV that struck her and the dog remained on the scene. No charges had been filed as of Wednesday morning.
The incident remains under investigation.
