Pittsburgh-Area Woman Shot To Death, Suspect Turns Up Dead

BUTLER COUNTY, PA — A woman was shot to death Wednesday and her suspected killer later was found dead.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to a home on Affinity Drive in Harmony Wednesday afternoon where they found the victim dead. She was identified as Gina DePietro, 48.

According to a police report, investigators determined that DePietro had been killed by Daniel Platt, 31, of Zelienople. Following the shooting, Platt traveled to Beaver County, where he committed suicide, police said.
