Pittsburgh Bus Driver Dragged Passenger Down Street: Police

A Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus driver is facing a criminal charge after allegedly dragging a disembarking passenger down a street.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh Regional Transit driver is facing a criminal charge after being accused of dragging a passenger down Main Street in Sharpsburg.

Jesse White, 55, has been charged with aggravated assault, according to court documents.

White was driving a bus and got into an argument with a passenger about where she was going to be dropped off, WPXI-TV reported.

According to police, the passenger's bag got stuck in the door as she got off, but White began driving anyway. When she attempted to get her bike off of the front of the bus, White started driving with the woman still in front of the vehicle and dragged her along the street.

A witness told police he began hitting the side of the bus, and another car began honking its horn to get White to stop. When he did, the woman rolled off the bus, police said.

The passenger was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor.
