Pittsburgh Could See Snow This Week: What We Know
Here's what the National Weather Service is saying about the prospects of snow in Pittsburgh this week.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The mild autumn conditions are going to take a decidedly winterish turn later this week in Western Pennsylvania, with the prospects of Pittsburgh seeing its first snowflakes of the season.
The National Weather Service says a strong cold will pass through the region on Wednesday night, bringing with it the chance of rain and snow showers. How potent will the cold front be? Wednesday's high temperature is expected to be in the mid-60s; Thursday's high is anticipated to be in the upper 30.
Snow showers will continue Thursday before changing to all rain late in the morning. The weather service is not predicting any accumulation in the Pittsburgh area at this time, but that won't be the case east of the city past Westmoreland County. Significant accumulations are possible there.
